A Bit About Ryna
My name is Ryna, pronounced Ray-na. I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student at Capella University. I am currently in my internship, under supervision, working towards the goal of becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor.
I am interested in working with adolescents, adults, seniors, and the LGBTQ+ community. While I have learned a variety of counseling techniques I am placing emphasis on learning Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques.
I value the differences that make us all unique and this leads me to be flexible in my approach to counseling, enabling me to meet the unique needs of each client I serve. A wealth of life experiences has shown me the impact our emotional experiences, awareness and responses have on our mental health.
Outside my role as a counselor I am the mother of five children and have been married for seventeen years. I find spending time with animals relaxing and often enjoy spending time exploring nature or in my garden.
If you choose me as your counselor I would like to thank you for assisting me in completing my educational process by trusting me with your care.
